The natural world is full of inspiration, whether you look at the macro level and see a waterfall, or the micro level and see a tiny cell. Here are some examples from a series I am working on inspired by Biology.
The image first image below is inspired by a vestibular hair cell, tiny cells in the inner ear that sense movement. Without them, you can't know where you are. The next two images are from cross-sections of the human heart. One is still a work in progress. The Final image is a butterfly made by applique and heat cutting sheer fabrics. I didn't notice my helper's contribution until I had finished photographing and was back at the computer.
